Research Interest
After working with incarcerated youth for over 14 years, I realized most students want extraordinary lives with minimal effort. My primary goal is to shine light on cognitive dissonance and promote change allowing students to create a new legacy. I would like to design a curriculum for at-risks youth that will be innovative and use music, social media, and technology to help high school students re-engage in their school culture. I would like to reach at-risk students before they become a part of the school-to-prison pipeline. The question that drives my research is, will students integrate into a school community if placed in a leadership role? I would look like to see if I can design a program that could be a preventative measure disrupting the school-to-prison pipeline and eventually becoming an alternative program for students with a history of truancy . My idea is to integrate my program in residential placements, alternative schools, and juvenile halls. These are the at-risk youth I would like to target- and see if it can develop them into leaders because my experience with incarcerated youth has allowed me to see unlimited potential. However, often our strongest leaders are leading in the wrong direction based on school experiences, lack of school culture, and lack of participation in the community. My area of interest is leadership with at-risk youth ranging from 12 to 16 years of age. This website will share with you my area of interests (above), my various attempts to obtain financial support, and walk you through my first attempt to define good research and create a literature review.

Welcome to OPERATION LEAP OF FAITH a website created to walk you through my doctoral experience. The title of this website is no accident. As a husband and father of 3 children under 5, I am taking a leap of faith that God has a plan for my life, that I myself cannot even see. Every morning I rise and grind and my beautiful wife and children are my "WHY" that get me through literature reviews, and countless hours of reading. So please enjoy this educational journey with me as I mount up with wings like an eagle, run and not tire, and even walk at times without fainting (Isaiah 41) .
